Weekly wordy wanderings welcomed on Wednesdays.
Wonderland in Media:
I love this show, and I was thrilled by this episode. The mark in this episode is named Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll’s real name) and there are several other references, as noted here in the episode notes. Just a really fun episode and yet another case of Wonderland being referenced in modern pop culture.
Quote of the Week:
Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, “and what is the use of a book”, thought Alice, “without pictures or conversations?”
So last week, despite having no internet, and thus still trying to catch up with everything, I was also thwarted from posting a Wonderland Weekly by the tornado sirens going off in the area. As I am new to this area, I didn’t realize that the sirens go off everywhere in the whole city, so even though the storm was a good hour away from me, and never even came close, I got to be scared out of my mind by the lovely screams of the mid-west.
Anyway, I was pretty sure tornadoes take you to Oz, not Wonderland.
